Holistic Healing means that we can achieve optimum health by balancing body, mind, spirit and emotions and that all people have innate powers to heal themselves.
“Healing is often a journey and may not occur in the precise way we plan.”
A holistic doctor, typically a generalist, may use many forms of therapy to unlock a person’s healing powers. For example if a person suffers from migraine headaches the practitioner will evaluate nutrition, lifestyle, sleep habits, life stressors and individual spiritual practices. The doctor may also refer to other experts for assistance.
- All people have innate healing powers
- A person is a whole person, not a disease
- Healing is a team approach with the person and practitioner being on the same team
- Treatment strives to eliminate the cause, not just treating the symptom
