Holistic Healing

Holistic Healing means that we can achieve optimum health by balancing body, mind, spirit and emotions and that all people have innate powers to heal themselves.

“Healing is often a journey and may not occur in the precise way we plan.”

A holistic doctor, typically a generalist, may use many forms of therapy to unlock a person’s healing powers. For example if a person suffers from migraine headaches the practitioner will evaluate nutrition, lifestyle, sleep habits, life stressors and individual spiritual practices. The doctor may also refer to other experts for assistance.

Tenets

  • All people have innate healing powers echinacea flowers
  • A person is a whole person, not a disease
  • Healing is a team approach with the person and practitioner being on the same team
  • Treatment strives to eliminate the cause, not just treating the symptom
